The port of Kane is only known from literary sources and some inscriptions. Original Kane was a Greek colony.
According to Plinius, the city was already abandoned when he lived.
The old remains of Bademli have probably been identified as the antique city of Kane. In that case the city lay on a peninsula about 30 kms west of Pergamum.
Kane has been investigated by the Deutsche Archäologische Institut in Istanbul by its director, Dr Felix Pirson
