In front of room 21, under the colonnade, is a black and white foor mosaic depicting a ship with on both sides a modius. Above the ship we see a tabula ansata with the following text:
NAVICUL(ari) ET NEGOTIANTES
KARALITANI
The shipmasters and traders of CARALES
The two vessels for measuring grain (modius) refer probably to the grain that was transported from Carales on Sardinia (modern Cagliari)
